The comprehension of a discourse in praesentia
In the situation I have taken into consideration there is a person who speaks and in order to continue to speak must hear and listen to him/herself and remember what s/he has said; there is also a person who listen carefully, that is attributes meanings to the verbal signs s/he receives; the attribution of meaning is carefully studied. The speaker has to pay attention to his/her public (of one or more people), adapt him/herself to its reactions and captivate its attention. S/he must be careful that the other is always paying attention and the confirmation of this captured and maintained attention may even be an interruption, an observation or a reply; in these cases the situation which is described may become dialogic.
